2026 garden waste service
Residents can now pay for their licence for the 2026 garden waste collection service.
A licence costs £52 for collections between March and early December. The licence covers one 240-litre wheelie bin to be emptied fortnightly. Anyone who wants to have more than one bin emptied will need to pay for a licence for each additional bin. Upcoming improvements to the waste and recycling service in the former Hambleton area
To ensure it is as efficient as possible, and the same for all North Yorkshire residents, rubbish and recycling collections will now take place between Tuesdays and Fridays for former Hambleton residents. This will mean a more reliable and consistent service, as well as a reduction in bank holiday disruptions.

Carthorpe will be celebrating VE Day 80 years on, on Thursday 8th May 2025. Celebrations will be in the form of a 1940's themed evening held at Carthorpe House Farm Buildings (The Square) starting at 18:30. Carthorpe Village celebrated the 80th Anniversary of D-Day on 6th June 2024. We gathered at Carthorpe House Farm enjoyed Fish & Chips and took part in the National Beacon Lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the men & women who helped to liberate Europe 80 years ago.
